Static Lunge Kick

Sunk in a deep squat on one leg with the arms reaching forward, the free leg kicks straight out in front and tucks back while the standing leg holds the depth.

How to do it

Setup

Deep squat on one leg, arms straight out in front, the free foot tucked beside the standing ankle.

Steps

  1. Kick the free leg straight out in front.
  2. Tuck it back in without rising from the squat.
  3. Finish the set, then stand and switch legs.

Common mistakes

Rising with each kick: the standing leg holds the depth throughout. Standing heel lifting: sit back until the whole foot stays down. Rounding the back to balance: reach the arms forward and keep the chest up.

Breathing

Exhale on each kick, inhale tucking in.
