Standing Peroneus Muscles Stretch

Standing with one foot behind turned onto its outer edge, the sole facing in, the weight eases onto it until the outside of the lower leg stretches.

How to do it

Setup

Standing, hands on the hips, one foot a little behind with its outer edge on the floor and the sole turned in.

Steps

  1. Keep most of the weight on the front foot.
  2. Ease a little weight onto the turned foot until the outside of the shin stretches.
  3. Hold and breathe, then set the foot flat and switch sides.

Common mistakes

Letting the weight fall onto the rolled ankle: the front leg carries it; the turned foot only rests. Pushing into a pinch on the outside of the ankle: set the foot flat and ease off. Turning the knee in with the foot: keep it pointing forward.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
