Standing Hip Adduction
Standing tall, sweep one straight leg across in front of the other and back: the cable hip adduction with no load.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, weight on one leg, the other foot just off the floor, arms relaxed.
Steps
- Sweep the free leg across in front of the standing leg.
- Keep the hips level and the torso still.
- Return the leg to just past hip-width; switch after the set.
Common mistakes
Twisting the pelvis to cross further: the leg crosses, the hips stay square. Leaning on the standing leg: stay tall. Swinging fast: slow, controlled sweeps.
Breathing
Exhale on the sweep across, inhale returning.
