Single Arm Push-Up (on Knees)

The one-arm push-up from the knees: the shorter lever makes the single-arm press possible while the trunk still resists twisting.

How to do it

Setup

On the knees, knees wide, the working hand under the middle of the chest, the other hand behind the back.

Steps

  1. Lower the chest toward the working hand, elbow close to the body.
  2. Keep the shoulders and hips level, with no twist.
  3. Press back up; finish the set, then switch arms.

Common mistakes

Body rolling toward the free side: wider knees and a braced trunk. Hand too far to the side: under the middle of the chest. Tiny range sold as reps: lower only as far as you can press, then build depth.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale pressing.
