Single-Arm Kettlebell Swing

Swing the bell to chest height with the hip drive, one arm at a time; the free arm balances or switches grip at the top.

How to do it

Setup

Bell a step ahead, hinge and hike it back with ONE hand, free arm balancing.

Steps

  1. Snap the hips – the bell floats to chest height.
  2. Keep the shoulders square despite the single grip.
  3. Hinge on the fall and repeat; switch arms.

Common mistakes

Torso rotating with the bell: square is the anti-rotation work. Arm lifting: hips launch, the arm rides. Bell drifting sideways: it swings through the center line.

Breathing

Sharp exhale on the snap, inhale on the backswing.
