Resistance Band Seated Single-Leg Hamstring Stretch

A seated fold over one straight leg with a flat band around its foot; the band does the reaching, so the back stays long.

How to do it

Setup

Seated tall on the floor, legs straight, a flat band around the ball of one foot, an end in each hand.

Steps

  1. Pull the band taut and hinge forward from the hips.
  2. Stop where the back of the banded thigh stretches, knee straight.
  3. Hold and breathe, then switch legs.

Common mistakes

Rounding the back to fold lower: hinge from the hips and let the band set the reach. Knee bending as you pull: keep the back of the knee near the floor. Band sliding up the toes: loop it around the ball of the foot.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
