Resistance Band Lying Leg Raise

Lying on your side with a mini loop band around the shins, lift the top leg against it; the band adds load to the side-lying hip abduction.

How to do it

Setup

Lying on one side, head on the lower arm, legs long and stacked, a mini loop band around both shins.

Steps

  1. Lift the top leg against the band, knee straight, toes forward.
  2. Hold the top for a beat, hips stacked.
  3. Lower slowly without letting the legs touch; finish the side, switch.

Common mistakes

Rolling the top hip back to lift higher: keep the hips stacked. Top leg rolling so the toes face the ceiling: turn the kneecap forward again. Resting the leg between reps: stop just above the lower one.

Breathing

Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
