Resistance Band 45 Degree Hip Extension Glute Focused

The glute-focused 45-degree extension with a band running from the front of the bench's base over the upper back; the band resists most at the top.

How to do it

Setup

On a 45° bench, pad under the hip crease, a band from the base of the bench looped over the upper back, upper back rounded.

Steps

  1. Fold down at the hips, keeping the band snug across the shoulders.
  2. Drive the hips into the pad to rise against the band.
  3. Pause at the straight line, then lower slowly.

Common mistakes

Band sliding off the shoulders: hold it in place with both hands at the collarbones. Snapping back down with the band: lower slower than you rose. Arching to fight the band at the top: the line is the finish.

Breathing

Exhale as the torso rises, inhale lowering.
