Quadriceps Lying Stretch

Face down, draw one heel to the buttock with the same-side hand, hips on the floor; the front of the thigh stretches.

How to do it

Setup

Lying face down, forehead on one forearm, legs long.

Steps

  1. Bend one knee and take that ankle with the same-side hand.
  2. Draw the heel toward the buttock, hips pressed down.
  3. Hold and breathe, then switch legs.

Common mistakes

Hip lifting off the floor: press it down; that is where the stretch lives. Knee drifting wide: keep it in line with the hip. Straining for a foot out of reach: loop a towel around it.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
