Prone Cobra Palms Under Thighs

Face down with the hands tucked under the thighs, lift the chest off the floor and draw the shoulder blades back, the legs staying down.

How to do it

Setup

Face down, legs long, arms along the body with the palms tucked under the front of the thighs.

Steps

  1. Lift the chest and draw the shoulder blades back and down.
  2. Hold the top for a beat, the neck long.
  3. Lower the chest back to the floor slowly.

Common mistakes

Pushing up with the hands: they stay tucked under the thighs; the back does the lift. Chin jutting forward: keep the eyes on the floor. Legs lifting: this is an upper-body lift.

Breathing

Exhale on the lift, inhale lowering.
