Pelvic Tilt into Bridge

Lying on the back, tilt the pelvis to flatten the lower back, then peel the spine off the floor into a bridge and roll back down.

How to do it

Setup

Lying on the back, knees bent, feet flat hip-width, arms by the sides.

Steps

  1. Tilt the pelvis to press the lower back into the floor.
  2. Keep curling up, lifting the spine one segment at a time into a bridge.
  3. Roll down from the top of the back to the tailbone.

Common mistakes

Popping the hips up in one piece: peel the spine off the floor bit by bit. Arching the lower back at the top: ribs down, glutes firm. Dropping down fast: lower one segment at a time.

Breathing

Exhale rolling up, inhale rolling down.
