Medicine Ball Push-Up, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Both hands on the ball under the chest – or one hand on it, alternating.

Steps

  1. Lower the chest toward the ball.
  2. Keep the wobble quiet with braced shoulders.
  3. Press up; if alternating, roll the ball to the other hand.

Common mistakes

Elbows flaring on the narrow base: tuck them harder here. Rushing the roll-over: settle the ball, then press. Wrists straining: grip AROUND the ball, fingers spread.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale pressing.
