Machine Seated Good Morning
Seated facing a low machine, hinge the long-backed torso forward and bring it back upright against the machine's handle held in straight arms; sitting takes the legs out and leaves the hips and lower back.
How to do it
Setup
On the low bench facing the machine, feet on the platform, knees bent, the low handle in both hands with straight arms.
Steps
- Hinge forward from the hips with a long back, letting the handle travel toward the machine.
- Bring the torso back to upright by driving the hips, arms staying straight.
- Pause tall, then hinge forward again under control.
Common mistakes
Rounding forward to reach the machine: the hinge ends where the back stays long. Pulling with the arms: they stay straight; the hips and back do the work. Leaning far back at the top: stop at upright.
Breathing
Inhale folding forward, exhale sitting up.
