Machine Calf Raise (Bench Press Machine)
A standing calf raise using a bench press machine's lever: on a step at its end, the handles held at the hips.
How to do it
Setup
On a step at the machine's end, handles at the hips, balls of the feet on the edge.
Steps
- Rise onto the toes; the straight arms carry the lever up.
- Pause at the top without shrugging.
- Sink the heels past the edge with control.
Common mistakes
Bending the elbows to lift the lever: arms stay straight. Leaning back against the load: stand tall. Step too far out: the lever tips you forward; stand where it rises straight.
Breathing
Exhale rising, inhale lowering.
