Kettlebell Standing Calf Raise

The standing calf raise with a kettlebell in each hand and the feet flat on the floor; the bells hang close to the legs.

How to do it

Setup

Feet hip-width on the floor, a kettlebell in each hand, arms long, shoulders down.

Steps

  1. Press through the balls of the feet and rise.
  2. Hold the top, the bells hanging still.
  3. Bring the heels back to the floor under control.

Common mistakes

Bells swinging forward: they hang still at the sides. Shrugging to help: the arms only hold; the ankles lift. Dropping fast from the top: lower on a slow count.

Breathing

Exhale rising, inhale lowering.
