Leg Pull

The Pilates leg pull: from sitting, lift into a straight-legged reverse plank on the hands and heels and kick one leg high, keeping the hips up.

How to do it

Setup

Seated, legs long and together, hands on the floor behind the hips, fingers forward.

Steps

  1. Press into the hands and heels to lift the body into one straight line.
  2. Kick one straight leg up high and lower it with control.
  3. Keep the hips level while the legs take turns.

Common mistakes

Hips sinking as the leg rises: press the hips up and hold the line. Shoulders creeping to the ears: push the floor away. Bending the kicking knee: keep both legs long.

Breathing

Exhale on the kick, inhale lowering.
