Kneeling Cobra Push-Up

The cobra push-up from the knees: the shorter lever makes the lowering and the press back easier, while the cobra in the middle stays the same.

How to do it

Setup

Kneeling push-up position, hands under the shoulders, shins on the floor, hips in line with the torso.

Steps

  1. Lower the chest and hips to the floor together.
  2. Straighten the arms into a cobra, hips staying down.
  3. Push back up to the kneeling plank.

Common mistakes

Hips piking up before the chest lowers: they travel down with it. Shrugging in the cobra: shoulders away from the ears. Rushing the press back: control the way up as well as the way down.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale up.
