Cobra Push-Up
A push-up that lowers the body to the floor, presses up into a cobra with the hips down and the chest lifted, then pushes back to the plank.
How to do it
Setup
High plank, hands a little wider than the shoulders, body in one line.
Steps
- Lower the whole body to the floor with control.
- Press the chest up into a cobra, arms straight, hips on the floor.
- Lift the hips and push back up into the plank.
Common mistakes
Crunching the lower back in the cobra: lift only as high as the back allows, shoulders down. Belly flopping onto the floor: lower under control. Hips lagging on the way back to the plank: the body rises in one piece.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale up.
