Incline Reverse Hyperextension
The reverse hyperextension lying head down on an incline bench, hips at its high end, legs rising from a hang into one line with the torso.
How to do it
Setup
Face down on an incline bench with the head at the low end, hands holding the bench's frame, hips at the top edge, legs hanging to the floor.
Steps
- Lift the straight legs from the hang into one line with the torso.
- Pause there with the glutes tight.
- Lower until the toes almost touch the floor.
Common mistakes
Hips sliding off the top edge: set them so the bench still supports the pelvis. Throwing the legs up: slow lift, slower lowering. Kicking past the line of the torso: the lower back takes over; stop there.
Breathing
Exhale as the legs rise, inhale on the way down.
