Dumbbell Standing Zottman Preacher Curl

The Zottman curl standing at a stand-up preacher pad, both bells at once: up palms up, down palms down.

How to do it

Setup

Standing behind a stand-up preacher pad, both upper arms over it, a dumbbell in each hand, palms up.

Steps

  1. Curl both bells up to the top palms up.
  2. Rotate the palms down before lowering.
  3. Lower slowly palms down and turn them back up at the bottom.

Common mistakes

Hips pushing into the pad to start the curl: stand still behind it. Lowering palms down as fast as you lifted: that slow half is the point. Wrists sagging on the palms-down descent: keep them in line with the forearms.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale on the slow lowering.
