Dumbbell Standing One-Arm Reverse Curl

The reverse curl one arm at a time: a single dumbbell rises overhand to the shoulder while the free arm hangs still, so all the attention goes to one forearm.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall, one dumbbell at the side in an overhand grip, palm facing back, elbow pinned to the ribs.

Steps

  1. Curl the bell to the shoulder, knuckles up the whole way.
  2. Squeeze at the top without letting the wrist drop.
  3. Lower to a straight arm; finish the side, then switch.

Common mistakes

Wrist sagging as the bell rises: keep the knuckles in line with the forearm. Leaning away from the bell: stand square; the free side stays still. Swinging the elbow forward: it stays at the ribs.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
