Dumbbell Preacher Swing Curl

The hammer curl on the preacher bench in which both bells swing in on the way up and meet in front of the face.

How to do it

Setup

Seated at the preacher bench, arms on the pad, a dumbbell in each hand, thumbs up, bells a shoulder-width apart.

Steps

  1. Curl both bells, letting the forearms swing in toward each other.
  2. Meet the bells in front of the face, thumbs still up.
  3. Lower them along the same arc to almost straight arms.

Common mistakes

Elbows sliding in off the pad to bring the bells together: the forearms swing, the elbows stay put. Bells crashing into each other: meet them gently. Dropping out of the top: lower as slowly as you curl.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
