Machine Reverse-Grip Preacher Curl
The machine preacher curl with the palms facing down; the overhand grip hands much of the work to the forearm and the brachialis.
How to do it
Setup
Seated in the preacher machine, upper arms on the pad, handles gripped overhand.
Steps
- Curl the handles up with the knuckles leading.
- Keep the wrists firm and straight.
- Lower slowly to nearly straight arms.
Common mistakes
Loading it like the palms-up curl: overhand takes far less; set the pin lighter. Wrists folding back: knuckles in line with the forearms. Palms creeping up as the set burns: they stay down.
Breathing
Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
