Dumbbell Incline Two-Arm Extension

One dumbbell held in both hands and extended overhead while lying back on an incline bench; the pad supports the back through the stretch.

How to do it

Setup

Back on an incline bench, one bell held in both hands behind the head, elbows pointing up.

Steps

  1. Extend the bell up until the arms are straight above the head.
  2. Keep the elbows narrow and pointing up.
  3. Lower the bell behind the head for the stretch.

Common mistakes

Elbows splaying out as the bell drops: keep them close to the head. Head pushed forward off the pad: keep it back. Bell dropping too deep behind the bench: lower only as far as the elbows stay put.

Breathing

Inhale lowering, exhale extending.
