Dumbbell Hammer Curl on Stability Ball

The hammer curl seated on a stability ball: both bells rise thumbs up while the ball keeps the trunk working to stay balanced.

How to do it

Setup

Seated tall on a stability ball, feet wide, dumbbells at the sides in a neutral grip.

Steps

  1. Curl both bells to the shoulders, thumbs up.
  2. Keep the palms facing each other throughout.
  3. Lower slowly without rolling on the ball.

Common mistakes

Palms rolling up as the bells rise: the thumbs stay on top. Ball rolling back on the way up: plant the feet and brace. Slumping as the set goes on: sit tall on the ball's top.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
