Double-Under

The rope passes twice under the feet on one jump; jump a little higher, spin from the wrists, and count the passes.

Double-Under, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Rope sized so the handles reach the armpits when stood on; elbows in.

Steps

  1. Jump a little higher than a single, body straight, toes pointed.
  2. Spin the rope from the WRISTS.
  3. Two passes under the feet per jump; count the passes.

Common mistakes

Tucking the knees or piking: the jump is straight, only higher. Arms swinging wide to speed the rope: the wrists spin, elbows stay in. Rushing the first pass: the rope catches the feet; set the rhythm on singles first.

Breathing

Steady with the rhythm.
