Crunch (On Stability Ball, Arms Straight)
The stability ball crunch with the arms straight and reaching toward the knees, a lighter arm position than the hands at the head.
How to do it
Setup
Lower back on the ball, feet planted wide, arms straight and pointing at the knees.
Steps
- Curl up, reaching the hands toward the knees.
- Keep the lower back in contact with the ball.
- Lower back over the curve into a stretch.
Common mistakes
Arms swinging to start the rep: they reach, the ribs lift. Sitting up off the ball: the curl ends while the waist still touches it. Feet close together: set them wider so the ball stays put.
Breathing
Exhale on the crunch, inhale on the stretch.
