Cross Over Shoulder Stretch
Bent forward with the arms crossed to hold the opposite knees, the upper back rounds and the shoulder blades spread apart; held for time.
How to do it
Setup
Feet hip-width, knees soft, bent forward, the arms crossed so each hand holds the opposite knee.
Steps
- Let the head hang and round the upper back toward the ceiling.
- Pull gently against the knees to spread the shoulder blades.
- Hold and breathe, then stand up slowly.
Common mistakes
Locking the knees: keep them soft so the lower back is spared. Yanking on the knees: a gentle pull, felt between the shoulder blades. Standing up fast from the fold: rise slowly, head last.
Breathing
Slow and even through the hold.
