Cross Body Punch in Squat Position
Cross-body punches thrown from a held half squat; the legs hold the squat while the arms and the trunk drive each punch.
How to do it
Setup
Feet wider than the hips, knees bent into a half squat, fists up at the chin.
Steps
- Throw one fist across the body, the chest turning with it.
- Return it to the chin as the other fist punches.
- Hold the squat depth through every punch.
Common mistakes
Standing up as you punch: the squat stays for the whole set. Knees falling inward as the trunk turns: they stay over the feet. Throwing the arm into a hard lock: snap out, but short of straight.
Breathing
Short exhale on every punch.
