Cable Forearm Pronation

Standing side-on to a cable at elbow height with the elbow bent at the side, the hand turns from palm-up to palm-down against the pull.

How to do it

Setup

Standing side-on to a cable set at elbow height, elbow bent 90° at the side, the ring handle in the near hand, palm up.

Steps

  1. Turn the palm down against the cable.
  2. Keep the elbow tucked and the forearm pointing at the pulley.
  3. Let the cable turn the palm back up slowly.

Common mistakes

Elbow drifting off the ribs: pin it; only the forearm rotates. Bending the wrist to finish the turn: keep it straight. Letting the stack spin the hand back: return under control.

Breathing

Exhale turning, inhale returning.
