Cable Bent-Over Neutral-Grip Kickback with Rope Attachment

The two-arm kickback on a rope from a low pulley; both hands work together in a neutral grip and can part at the top.

How to do it

Setup

Facing a low pulley, hinged forward, rope in both hands, upper arms along the ribs.

Steps

  1. Extend both elbows until the arms point straight back.
  2. Part the rope ends slightly at the top.
  3. Return the forearms to vertical, upper arms still.

Common mistakes

Standing too close to the stack: step back so the cable pulls from in front. Upper arms sinking toward the floor: keep them along the torso. Hands sliding off the ends: grip just inside the stoppers.

Breathing

Exhale extending, inhale returning.
