Bridge Hip Abduction

Hold a floor glute bridge and let the knees open out to the sides, then draw them back together; the glutes hold the bridge, the inner thighs close the knees.

How to do it

Setup

On your back in a glute bridge, feet close together, arms long on the floor.

Steps

  1. Lift the hips into the bridge and hold them there.
  2. Let the knees open slowly out to the sides.
  3. Squeeze them back together without the hips sinking.

Common mistakes

Hips dropping as the knees open: the bridge stays up the whole set. Knees flopping open: lower them under control. Feet rolling onto their edges: keep the soles flat.

Breathing

Steady throughout; never held.
