Band Upper Body Resistance Dead Bug

The dead bug with the straight arms holding a band anchored behind the head: the arms stay still against its pull while the legs lower in turn.

How to do it

Setup

On your back, a band anchored low behind the head, its end in both hands over the chest on straight arms, hips and knees at 90°.

Steps

  1. Pull the band forward with straight arms and hold it over the chest.
  2. Straighten one leg out low while the other knee stays over the hip.
  3. Bring it back and lower the other leg; the arms never move.

Common mistakes

Arms drifting back with the band: hold them over the chest. Lower back arching as the leg reaches: stop the leg higher. Rushing the legs: lower each one slowly.

Breathing

Exhale lowering the limbs, inhale returning.
