Band Shrug
Standing on a band and holding its ends at the sides, lift the shoulders to the ears; the band is lightest at the bottom and pulls hardest at the top.
How to do it
Setup
Both feet on the band hip-width, an end in each hand at the sides, arms long, standing tall.
Steps
- Lift the shoulders straight up against the band.
- Hold the top, where the band is tightest, for a beat.
- Let the shoulders down slowly as the band shortens.
Common mistakes
Band too light to feel at the bottom: take it shorter in the hands. Bending the elbows to help: the arms only hold the ends. Snapping down from the top: lower slower than you lift.
Breathing
Exhale on the shrug, inhale lowering.
