Alternate Oblique Crunch
A diagonal crunch with one hand behind the head and the other arm on the floor: the raised elbow drives across toward the opposite knee, sides in turn.
How to do it
Setup
Lying on the back, knees bent, feet flat, one hand behind the head, the other arm long on the floor.
Steps
- Curl up and turn, bringing the raised elbow toward the opposite knee.
- Press the floor arm down to steady the turn.
- Lower, switch the hands and curl to the other side.
Common mistakes
Elbow swinging across while the shoulder stays down: the shoulder lifts and turns. Yanking the head with the hand: it only rests there. Feet lifting as you turn: keep them planted.
Breathing
Exhale on each twist, inhale returning.
