Table Top Bridge

Seated with the hands behind and the feet flat, lift the hips until the body from shoulders to knees is level like a table top, then lower.

How to do it

Setup

Seated on the floor, knees bent, feet flat hip-width, hands on the floor behind the hips, fingers toward the feet.

Steps

  1. Press through the heels and hands to lift the hips.
  2. Stop with the shins vertical and the hips in line with the shoulders.
  3. Lower the hips back to just above the floor.

Common mistakes

Hips stopping low: squeeze the glutes up to a level line. Head dropping back hard: keep the chin slightly tucked. Shoulders shrugged to the ears: push the floor away and keep them down.

Breathing

Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
