Sled Alternating Single-Leg Negative Press

On the 45° leg press, push the platform up with both legs and lower it with one, switching the lowering leg each rep.

How to do it

Setup

In the 45° leg press, back flat on the pad, both feet hip-width on the platform, safeties released.

Steps

  1. Press the platform up with both legs.
  2. Lift one foot off and lower the sled slowly with the other.
  3. Put both feet back and press up; lower with the other leg next.

Common mistakes

Load too heavy for one leg on the way down: pick a weight one leg can lower slowly. Knee caving as it lowers alone: track it over the toes. Lower back peeling off the pad at the bottom: stop before the hips curl.

Breathing

Inhale lowering, exhale pressing.
