Single-Arm Dumbbell Snatch
In one explosive motion bring the dumbbell from the floor to overhead; alternate arms.

How to do it
Setup
Feet shoulder-width, dumbbell on the floor between them; hinge down and grip it, back flat.
Steps
- Drive the hips through and pull the bell close to the body.
- As it passes the chest, punch it straight overhead.
- Lock out, then lower it back down in two stages; switch arms.
Common mistakes
Arm-lifting from the floor: the power is the hip snap; the arm finishes, it doesn't start. Bell swinging away from the body: keep it brushing close. Soft lockout overhead: a firm straight arm before it comes down.
Breathing
Inhale at the bottom, sharp exhale through the snatch.
