Seated Radial Nerve Mobilization

A seated glide for the radial nerve: the arm straightens down and back with the wrist bent as the head tips toward it, then both ease back.

How to do it

Setup

Seated tall on a chair, one elbow bent with a loose fist in front of the chest, the head tipped away from that arm.

Steps

  1. Straighten the arm down and back beside the body, the palm turning back and the wrist bending.
  2. At the same time tip the head toward that shoulder.
  3. Return the arm and the head together, slowly and easily.

Common mistakes

Forcing the wrist into a burning pull: ease off until the movement feels light. Tipping the head away as the arm straightens: that pulls the nerve from both ends; tip it toward the arm. Shrugging the working shoulder: keep it down and relaxed.

Breathing

Steady throughout; never held.
