Resistance Band Adduction Split Squat

The split squat with a band looped around the front knee and anchored low to the side; the knee must stay in line against the pull.

How to do it

Setup

Band just above the front knee, tied low to a bench leg at the side, split stance.

Steps

  1. Step out until the band holds some tension.
  2. Lower the back knee, the front knee over the toes.
  3. Stand back up, still resisting the pull.

Common mistakes

Knee drifting with the band: hold it over the middle of the foot. Band too tight to control: step closer to the anchor. Hips turning toward the pull: keep them square to the front.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale up.
