Lying Hip Lift (On Stability Ball)

The hip thrust with the upper back on a stability ball instead of a bench.

How to do it

Setup

Upper back on the ball, feet flat and hip-width, hands behind the head.

Steps

  1. Lift the hips until the body is flat as a table.
  2. Keep the ball still under the shoulders.
  3. Lower the hips toward the floor under control.

Common mistakes

Ball rolling toward the head: push through the heels, not the toes. Hips tilting to one side: square and level. Arching past level at the top: the glutes finish the rep.

Breathing

Exhale driving up, inhale lowering.
