Hands Release Push-Up

Each rep lowers the chest all the way to the floor, lifts both hands off it for a moment, then sets them back and presses up.

How to do it

Setup

High plank, hands under the shoulders, feet hip-width.

Steps

  1. Lower all the way until the chest rests on the floor.
  2. Lift both hands off the floor, squeezing the shoulder blades, then set them back.
  3. Press up to straight arms, body moving in one piece.

Common mistakes

Hips lifting first off the floor: chest and hips rise together. Hands landing in a new spot each rep: put them back under the shoulders. Relaxing on the floor: stay braced while the hands are up.
