Cable Reverse-Grip Triceps Pushdown (EZ-Bar)

The reverse-grip pushdown on an EZ attachment: palms up on the angled parts, which sit easier on the wrists than a straight bar held underhand.

How to do it

Setup

Facing a high pulley, the EZ attachment held underhand on its angled parts, elbows at the ribs.

Steps

  1. Press the bar down until the arms are straight, palms still up.
  2. Keep the wrists firm and the elbows still.
  3. Let the bar rise slowly to just above elbow height.

Common mistakes

Wrists bending back as the bar rises: keep them straight and use a lighter stack. Hands sliding to the flat middle: stay on the angled parts. Upper arms moving: only the forearms travel.

Breathing

Exhale pressing down, inhale returning.
