Cable Rear Drive
Facing a pulley at shoulder height, one arm starts bent with the handle at the chin and drives back and out to a straight arm, the upper arm traveling with it.
How to do it
Setup
Facing a cable column, pulley at shoulder height, the handle in one hand at the chin, elbow up.
Steps
- Drive the elbow back and straighten the arm out to the side at shoulder height.
- Keep the chest facing the machine; only the arm moves.
- Return the handle to the chin under control; switch arms after the set.
Common mistakes
Turning the torso away to finish: keep the chest square to the stack. Arm dropping below shoulder height: drive it level. Snapping the elbow straight: finish smooth, with no jolt at lockout.
Breathing
Exhale driving back, inhale returning.
