Battling Ropes Low Waves
Alternating waves with the rope ends held low near the knees, the body in a deep half-squat; the waves stay small, fast and close to the floor.
How to do it
Setup
Facing the anchor, a rope end in each hand at knee height, feet wide, hips back in a deep half-squat, chest up.
Steps
- Whip the arms up and down in turn, sending small waves along the ropes.
- Keep the hands low near the knees and the stance still.
- Keep a fast rhythm for the interval and log the time.
Common mistakes
Standing up as the arms tire: the half-squat holds the whole interval. Waves climbing high: keep the hands and the ropes low. Rounding the back to reach the ropes: chest up, hips back.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
