Band Twisting Overhead Press
A one-arm press up and across the body against a band anchored low, driven by the legs and a turn of the hips; the whole body joins the press.
How to do it
Setup
Side-on to a low anchor, feet wide in a shallow squat, the band's end held at the shoulder farther from it.
Steps
- Drive up from the legs and turn the hips away from the anchor.
- Press the hand up and away along the band's line to a straight arm.
- Return to the shoulder and the squat under control; switch sides after the set.
Common mistakes
Twisting from the lower back: turn the hips and pivot the rear foot with them. Pressing before the legs drive: legs first, the arm finishes. A band too strong to finish the line: take a lighter band and reach fully.
Breathing
Exhale on the drive, inhale returning.
