Band Single-Leg Reverse Calf Raise

The single-leg calf raise on a low board with a band under the foot, its end held low in the hand, so the band loads the heel raise.

How to do it

Setup

Standing on one foot on a low board, the band under that foot, its end held in the hand at the hip, the other foot off the floor.

Steps

  1. Rise onto the ball of the foot as high as you can.
  2. Pause at the top.
  3. Lower the heel slowly; switch legs after the set.

Common mistakes

Pulling the band up with the arm: the arm only holds it; the calf lifts. Rolling onto the outer edge of the foot: rise straight over the big toe. Bouncing out of the bottom: lower fully, then rise.

Breathing

Exhale rising, inhale lowering.
