Roll Ball Posterior Tibialis (Single Leg) Side Lying on Floor

Lying on the side with the top leg crossed in front, its inner lower leg rests on a massage ball set on a block and rolls along the inside of the shin.

How to do it

Setup

Lying on one side propped on the hands, the top leg crossed in front with the inside of its lower leg on a massage ball placed on a block.

Steps

  1. Let the leg's weight settle onto the ball.
  2. Shift the leg to roll the ball up the inside of the shin toward the knee.
  3. Pause on a tender spot and breathe until it eases, then switch sides.

Common mistakes

Ball resting on the bone: slide it back into the soft muscle behind the shin. Letting the hip roll back: keep the body stacked on its side. Carrying on through tingling: shift the ball a little and ease off.

Breathing

Steady throughout; never held.
