Lying Single-Leg Kick

Face down on the forearms with the chest lifted, one heel at a time kicks toward the buttock and stretches back out, the legs taking turns.

How to do it

Setup

Face down, propped on the forearms, elbows under the shoulders, chest lifted, legs long and together.

Steps

  1. Kick one heel toward the buttock.
  2. Stretch that leg long along the floor as the other heel kicks.
  3. Keep alternating, the chest held up.

Common mistakes

Sinking into the shoulders: press the forearms down and keep the chest lifted. Hips rocking side to side: press the front of the pelvis into the floor. Knees drifting apart: keep the thighs together as the heels kick.

Breathing

Exhale on each kick.
