Cable Triceps Pushdown (EZ-Bar)

The pushdown on an angled EZ attachment gripped overhand; the tilt of the grips eases the wrists compared with a straight bar.

How to do it

Setup

Facing a high pulley, the EZ attachment held overhand on its angled parts, elbows at the sides.

Steps

  1. Press the bar down to straight arms.
  2. Keep the upper arms still against the ribs.
  3. Return until the forearms are just above level.

Common mistakes

Hands sliding to the flat middle: keep them on the angled parts. Elbows drifting out as the bar comes down: pin them. Leaning over the bar: stand tall and let the triceps finish.

Breathing

Exhale pressing down, inhale returning.
